Desperate Utah Man’s Shocking Attempt to Land in Federal Prison with $1 Bank Robbery

Salt Lake City, UT – A Utah man attempted to rob a bank of only $1 in order to be sent to federal prison. The man, whose name has not been released, walked into the Wells Fargo bank in downtown Salt Lake City and handed the teller a note demanding $1 and stating that he wanted to be sent to federal prison.

The teller, understandably confused, asked the man if he was serious. He replied that he was and reiterated that he only wanted $1. The teller complied with the demand and handed the man a single dollar bill. The man then sat down in the lobby and waited for the police to arrive.

When the police arrived, the man told them that he had committed the robbery in order to be sent to federal prison. He was arrested and charged with robbery.

It is unclear why the man wanted to be sent to federal prison or what his motives were. However, it is clear that his plan did not work as he was only charged with a misdemeanor and released on bail.

The incident has left many people scratching their heads and wondering what could have led the man to attempt such a bizarre and seemingly pointless crime. The investigation is ongoing, and more information may be released as it becomes available. – Wasatch Defense Lawyers does not represent any parties mentioned above.
