Attorney Bio

Beau Blackley is a licensed attorney in the State of Utah, State of Colorado, and the State of Florida. Mr. Blackley is also admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Utah. He received his J.D. from the University of Miami and graduated with Honors from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Speech Communication.

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Mr. Blackley gained valuable trial skills and experience as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami, Florida. During his tenure as an Assistant Public Defender, Mr. Blackley defended thousands of clients charged with domestic violence crimes, probation violations, and felony crimes. He zealously advocated for his clients by conducting thousands of depositions and investigations for adult and juvenile clients on cases that carried consequences up to life imprisonment. In keeping with his style as an aggressive litigator, Mr. Blackley argued two felony jury trials in one week before becoming an in-house advisory and training attorney.

Pursuant to the United States Supreme Court holding in Padilla v. Kentucky, 130 S. Ct. 1473 (2010), Mr. Blackley provided counsel to Assistant Public Defenders in Miami-Dade and several other Florida counties regarding immigration consequences related to their clients’ criminal cases. Additionally, Mr. Blackley provided statewide continuing legal education courses on defense counsel obligations to non-citizen clients in the wake of the Padilla decision.

To date, Beau has tried 40 criminal jury trials, Beau has tried 25 criminal delinquency trials, and over 5 child welfare trials.
